Who else is ready to get their hearts broken?

Olivia Rodrigo recently hinted about a comeback to the music scene. The award-winning singer said she’s working on “new songs” to commemorate the second anniversary of her hit song “drivers license.”

On her Instagram story on Sunday, January 8, 2023, the Filipino-American singer-songwriter praised her fans for the success of her breakout track.

In the story, Rodrigo was vibing to a tune at a recording studio with music producer Dan Nigro. He helped Rodrigo produce her debut album, “Sour,” in 2021.

“Working on so many new tunes that I can’t wait to show you,” Rodrigo says. “Thank you for everything!”

The singer rose to prominence after portraying Nini in Disney Plus’ “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.” She left the show to focus on her music career which had boomed throughout the pandemic.

Rodrigo’s solo debut album “Sour,” which features the songs “deja vu” and “good 4 u,” is one of the most successful albums to date.

Rodrigo released her debut single, “drivers license,” on January 8, 2021. This came after Rodrigo signed with US-based music labels Interscope Records and Geffren Records in 2020.

The song became a hit with over 1.6 billion streams on the music streaming service Spotify.

Rodrigo revealed some details about her sophomore album in a February 2022 interview with Billboard. She says, “I have a title for my next album and a few songs. It’s really exciting to think about the next world that’s coming up for me. I love writing songs. I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself. I want to explore and have fun right now.”
