OneRepublic Stages Symphonic Night To Remember At Araneta Coliseum

OneRepublic turns the Big Dome into a huge chorus with their songs

American pop-rock sextet OneRepublic has faced countless stars once again for their comeback concert in the Philippines.

The concert happened on February 23 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The crowd went for an impromptu chorus orchestrated by the band themselves.

OneRepublic is composed of Ryan Tedder, Zack Filkins, Eddie Fisher, Drew Brown, Brent Kutzle, and Brian Willet. The band was formed in Colorado Springs in 2002. Since then, they have produced hits such as “Apologize,” “Counting Stars,” and “Good Life.”

As of this writing, the band has more than 5 billion streams on the music platform Spotify. They have also toured around the world. Their newest stint is Asia’s “Live in Concert” tour.

Unforgettable night for OneRepublic fans

Fans started screaming as darkness filled the Big Dome. OneRepublic then entered one by one and proceeded to their sound check. Their first set included “Secrets” and “Good Life.” This was followed by “Stop and Stare,” “Rescue me,” “Wherever I Go,” and “Love Runs Out.”

OneRepublic then rocked the stage with “Halo,” “Sucker,” “Lose Somebody,” “Sunshine,” and “I Ain’t Worried.” They were also generous to play a medley of some hits. The second set came with an interactive participation from the audience.

As the show closely came to an end, OneRepublic played its classic song, “Apologize.” When the song reached its bridge stanza, front man Ryan Tedder encouraged the audience to join him and created a huge choir.

As a result, it beautifully filled the big dome with a choral sound. Then, they gently swept the show with the song “I Lived.”

Even though the band had completely left the stage, the audience patiently waited and asked for an encore. OneRepublic granted the favor and turned the venue’s section into a party house. They set the mood by playing their staple “Counting Stars.”

Finally, the night made a nostalgic and jumpy end with the famous collab song with Alesso titled “Lose Myself.”
