Pearl finished a few inches away from getting a back-to-back victory!
Pearl Hung, the Philippine delegate for Miss Global 2023, placed as third runner-up during the coronation night on Thursday, November 18, 2024, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The Palaweña beauty secured a podium finish, together with Vietnam’s Doan Thu Thuy (4th runner-up), Thailand’s Chonnikarn Supittayaporn (2nd runner-up), and Samoa’s Haylani Pearl Kurrupu (1st runner-up).
Puerto Rico’s Ashley Melendez was proclaimed as the eventual winner of the pageant, clinching the crown from Miss Global 2022, Sherry Anne Tormes from the Philippines.
Pearl has donned a gold number for the evening gown portion made by fashion designer Rian Fernandez. Meanwhile, her national costume titled Tandikan was made by Axel Que and has taken inspiration from the Palawan peacock-pheasant that radiates a Filipina warrior vibe.
Pearl Hung talks about happiness during Q&A
For the question and answer portion, Pearl was asked about her definition of happiness and how to achieve it at best.
Pearl answers, “True happiness for me is about empowering other people. It is about the transformation that you can share as you become. Because we cannot give what we do not have.
“We cannot share what we do not experience, and so for me, that is such a fulfilling thing to do, and for me that is success. And always remember to always live with passion and purpose, sending love and light to the world.”
The said pageant was hosted by Miss Universe 2023 1st runner-up Anntonia Porsild and model-actor Nico Locco.
Following the culmination of the pageant, Pearl has taken her thoughts on Instagram and offered her gratitude to her supporters.
Aside from being a beauty queen, Pearl is also a businesswoman who founded the business community, Elites Empire. Going into the pageant industry, Pearl had her first crown when she joined in Miss World 2018 and ended as the second princess.
