“Today is different. I wish it were different,” a heartbroken Kim Chiu says on her birthday
Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu spent her 33rd birthday differently as she asked fans to pray for her sister Lakam Chiu’s recovery.
In a series of Instagram photos on Wednesday, April 19, Chiu announced that her sister has been hospitalized for a reason yet to be disclosed. The photos are captioned with, “Today is different. I wish it were different,” followed by appreciation to her supporters who had extended well-wishes on her special day.
For the actress, prayers for her sister are enough of a gift already. Four days had passed since, and Chiu had yet again resorted to Instagram to give a follow-up on her sister’s condition. While Lakam Chiu has made it well outside the intensive care unit, the “Chinita Princess” is still asking for continued prayers as her sister is yet to be conscious again.
In an Instagram story, Kim Chiu says, “Thank you for all your prayers for my ate Lakam. Sorry I was not able to reply to each one of you. She is out of ICU last night. She is transferred to a normal room. We are waiting for her consciousness to regain. Maraming salamat po for praying. Tuloy lang po sana tayo sa pagdadasal. [praying hand emoji] thank you po sa inyong lahat. [heart emoji]
The Chiu Sisters’ Intimate Bond
The Chiu sisters have always been tightly knitted. In the past, Kim Chiu always made it a point to express her love for her “number one critic, number one fan, and superwoman.” The actress also sees her sister as her “shield and protector,” attesting that Lakam Chiu is always there to save her in moments of failure.
