It’s true — malakas ang ‘Amatz’ — and BillBoard finally knows it.

On Tuesday, the popular music magazine recognized through a tweet all the new songs that made it to their Top 10 World Digital Song Sales chart this week. Joining the list is “Amatz,” the controversial track by Filipino rapper Shanti Dope, which closed the list on the 10th spot.

Joining Shanti Dope are BTS for “Film Out,” which bagged the top spot on the said chart, SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi for “Spider” which came in at #5, and EXO’s Chanyeol for “Tomorrow” ending up at #9.

BillBoard’s World Digital Song Sales is a weekly record chart that ranks the 25 best-selling digital songs that comprise the “world music” genre, or those that are produced outside of the United States.

Though “Amatz” has gained traction by itself upon its release, the track’s recent exposure in an episode of the Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which streamed on Disney Plus, has certainly helped it reach a wider audience.

To further this milestone, “Amatz” is now the second Filipino single to make the chart, the first being Sarah Geronimo’s “Tala,” which reached the 12th rank back in 2020.

Released in 2019, “Amatz” is written by Shanti Dope (real name Sean Patrick Ramos) and DJ Klumcee (Lester Vaño). The song’s infamous rise to fame came when the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency requested for the song to be banned from the airwaves for supposedly endorsing illegal marijuana use.
