Aside from a few TV appearances here and there, multimedia icon Nadine Lustre hasn’t really returned from her unspoken hiatus from acting, but the wait might not last any longer.
Per Inquirer, the Wildest Dreams singer is due to step back to the spotlight after a court ordered her last June to honor her contract with her previous talent managers in Viva Artists Agency. There haven’t been any formal announcements on what the project is or where it will debut, but a recent Instagram post by director Yam Laranas hints at Nadine possibly working with Diego Loyzaga and Epy Quizon.
In the post, Laranas simply uploaded screenshots of their virtual gathering with Nadine, Diego, and Epy. Beneath it, Laranas writes: “table reading,” along with a mix of hashtags that suggests that the project is produced by Viva Films and will stream on VivaMax.
The length of Nadine’s absence from showbiz was extended by her legal dispute with Viva Artists Agency. In January 2020, she claimed to have terminated her “oppressive” and “illegal” contract with the talent management company. However, a year later, Nadine was sued by Viva for allegedly breaching her contract, sparking a long row that culminated with the court ordering the actress to uphold her duties with Viva.
Nadine was last seen on screen in 2019’s dance musical Indak alongside Sam Concepcion. Her most decorated feat came when she and James Reid wrecked all our hearts in the Antoinette Jadaone-helmed Never Not Love You¸ which earned her her first FAMAS and Gawad Urian Best Actress accolades.
