Blake Lively Slams Photogs for Stalking Kids

Another celebrity has spoken up about paparazzi tendencies to invade personal space, more specifically the personal space of her children.

Actress Blake Lively slammed paparazzi for “stalking” her children on Instagram over the weekend. While out on a walk with her three young daughters, whom she shares with fellow actor Ryan Reynolds, Lively detailed being followed by photographers who seemed desperate for a quick pic of the family.

The Daily Mail Australia posted the snapshots on their Instagram page, leading Lively to leave some scathing remarks:

“You edit together these images together to look like I’m happily waving. But that is deceitful. The real story is: My children were being stalked by a man all day. Jumping out. And then hiding. A stranger on the street got into words with them because it was so upsetting for her to see. When I tried to calmly approach the photographer you hired to take these pictures in order to speak to him, he would run away. And jump out again at the next block.”

She then questioned whether or not photographers were background checked. “Where is your morality here? I would like to know. Or do you simply not care about the safety of children?”

The Gossip Girl star detailed the experience as “frightening” and asked the publication to listen to their followers.  “At minimum, listen to your followers. They too understand this is dark and upsetting that you pay people to stalk children. Please stop paying grown ass men to hide and hunt children. There are plenty of pictures you could’ve published without the kids. Please delete. C’mon. Get with the times.”

The photo has since been taken down, but the damage has already been done.

Lively’s comments come in just the same month as model and new mom Gigi Hadid’s heartfelt letter to the paparazzi. Hadid has also been staunch on protecting her infant’s privacy, appealing to photogs to blur her baby’s face in photos.

For now, there aren’t any ironclad rules on photographing celebrity children, but hopefully with more and more celebs speaking out, some action takes place.
