Bretman Slays in Nike Pride-Themed Ad

Can you say slaaaay?! Pinoy social media superstar Bretman Rock has been named one of the faces of Nike for its 2021 Be True campaign. Just in time for Pride Month, the 22-year-old influencer based in Hawaii shared the news on his Twitter and Instagram account. 

“Strength has no gender ! It’s measure from within” 🏳️‍🌈 I’m so excited to announce that I’m one of @nike faces for their #betrue campaign this year❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 🤎🖤🤍💖truly such an honor to be seen and heard from Nike, it’s so surreal,” Rock captioned on Instagram. In the photo set he shared, Bretman can be seen rocking apparel and footwear from the line while proudly waving a rainbow flag. 

As per the Nike website, the 2021 Be True collection is inspired by the idea that sport can be the setting for radical inclusivity. At the same time, sport is richer when it includes the diverse stories, backgrounds and orientations of every individual person. Isn’t that just wonderful?

Nike’s support to the LGBTQIA+ community is not just limited to its products. Nike has partnerships with national and local organizations who are at the front lines of advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community. One such group, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), brings a legacy that’s more than four decades long.

Bretman’s participation in Nike’s Be True campaign follows after the debut of his MTV digital television show called MTV Following: Bretman Rock and win for Breakthrough Social Star at the first MTV Awards: Unscripted. It looks like Bretman is living his best life, and still winning despite challenges of the ongoing pandemic. 

A proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Bretman has always been vocal about Pride Month. Knowing how much of a fitness enthusiast he is, he’s the perfect fit for the Be True campaign.
