Chrissy Teigen still has some love to show for her late son, Jack, whom she lost in late September last year.
The 35-year-old mother of two took to Instagram last week to share photos of the blessings ceremony she held for her unborn son.
She was accompanied by husband John Legend, her mother, Vilailuck Teigen, and her two young children children, Miles, 3, and Luna, 5. The family can be seen in all black, standing in front of a table adorned with flowers and candles.
Under the photo, Tiegen wrote: “Took me a year but finally honored his little spirit with some blessings today. Hopefully some closure in my heart will happen now. Thank you guys for the kind words. It’s a process. Xx,” Teigen captioned the post.
To honor National Sons Day, the former model and host also shared a photo of her and Legend in a hospital room. She said, “And to the son we almost had. A year ago you gave me the greatest pain I could ever imagine to show me I could survive anything, even if I didn’t want to.”
“They told me it would get easier but yeah, that hasn’t started yet,” she continued. “Mom and dad love you forever.”
Tiegen was 20 weeks pregnant when she was told Jack wouldn’t make it. She credited the loss to her “placenta problems,” an issue she’d also encountered when she delivered her first son, Miles, a month early.
She also suffered from endometriosis, a painful condition which involves tissue similar to that in the uterine lining growing outside of the uterus. It can often cause fertility issues and complications in pregnancies.
Back in February, Tiegen opted to undergo endometriosis surgery. She shared updates of her recovery on social media. “This [surgery is] a toughie,” Chrissy said. “It makes it hard, every little cough and stuff. But it is truly still better than the contractions and the pain of endo.”
