Create a 3D Cartoon of Yourself for Facebook

You might have noticed your Facebook friends have been turning themselves into cartoon characters over the last week. Apple’s Memoji does something similar and Instagram has filters that animate your face so it’s not an entirely new trend. If you want to hop on the wagon and try it out yourself, it’s not that difficult to do so.

Cartoon Filter Challenge

The trend that’s circulating around social media is referred to as the Cartoon Filter Challenge. Users choose a picture that they want to transform and an app will render an animated version of them. The output is three differently drawn styles of the chosen photo that users can be saved and share with their friends. To be able to do this, you’ll need to download a third-party app.

Create a 3D Cartoon of Yourself

After downloading the Viola AI Artist Cartoon Photo app, the process is simple.

  1. Choose the “3D cartoon” option.
  2. Click “Allow Access” when prompted to access your gallery.
  3. Select the photo you want to transform.
  4. The app will process the image.
  5. View the results.
  6. Save the photo so you can share it on your social media accounts.

Have a laugh with your friends about it or try it out on a different photo. You can even try to turn your favorite celebrity into a cartoon character. Take note that it’s not ideal for processing photos with pets and photos where faces can’t be detected. The Cartoon Filter Challenge is a fun way to pass time and is harmless compared to other challenges online.
