They’re not “aliens,” they’re extraterrestrials. At least, according to pop star Demi Lovato.
In an interview with E! News, the 29-year-old singer was asked if she had an unreleased song named “Aliens.” Lovato, a vocal believer of extraterrestrial life, made it clear that the term wasn’t in her vocabulary. “My fans should know that I do not call them aliens,” she said. “Because ‘alien’ is a derogatory term for anything, even extraterrestrials, which is why I call them ETs.”
She echoed the same sentiments in another interview with Pedestrian, saying, “I think that we have to stop calling them aliens because aliens is a derogatory term for anything. That’s why I like to call them ETs!”
Lovato is currently promoting her new four-part docuseries, Unidentified with Demi Lovato, where she explores the phenomena of UFOs with her sister Dallas and friend Matthew Montgomery.
In the show’s trailer, Lovato explained that she had recently had a “crazy experience” during her trip to Joshua Tree, where she believes she made contact with ETs. “We were stargazing and we tried to do this protocol where you make contact, and all of a sudden something showed up directly above us in the sky,” Lovato said. “I realized that my life was probably going to change in a spiritual way because I have a spiritual connection to this journey as well.”
Lovato also shared that she had been a “believer” for the most part of her life. “I just thought, you know, I’m in a position in my career right now where I’m dipping my toes into a lot of different waters. And this was just kind of a natural next step. I wanted to film everything that goes down when I go and search for these UFOs so that my fans can come along for the ride,” she stated.
