“’Di na kathang-isip”: Ben&Ben’s collab with Cream Silk proves that memes do come true

“It’s an honor to break gender stereotypes,” said Ben&Ben’s Paolo about their most recent gig.

We’ve done it, folks. From making memes about how they should be hair models…

… to shooting TikToks that poked fun at their long, luscious locks…

… it’s finally happening: Ben&Ben’s Miguel and Paolo Guico are Cream Silk’s newest ambassadors!

The frontmen of the popular folk-pop band were introduced to the Cream Silk family through a witty teaser commercial and an unboxing video posted on Tuesday that showed Miguel and Paolo opening a care kit sent by the shampoo brand.

Mahal naming Miguel and Paolo: Ang saya, ‘yung simpleng katuwaan, naging mahiwaga,” read Cream Silk’s letter to the two. “As a thank you and a reminder na araw-araw namin kayong pipiliin, meron kaming mga simple pero rock na care package para sa inyo. Tara na at lumikha para sa collab na mahiwaga.”

“Welcome to the Cream Silk family!”

They then revealed two hair products: the “Ultimate Reborn” and the Standout Straight,” which both presented the brothers as the product label’s models. Also inside were t-shirts and some limited edition stickers.

Talking about their new endorsement, Miguel noticed how it’s his first time seeing male personalities featured on the product. “It’s an honor to break gender stereotypes,” replied Paolo.

They then ended the video by inviting the audience to their upcoming online concert on August 8, which will be in partnership with Cream Silk.

Who knew Cream Silk would actually take us up for it and make the two bandmates their brand endorsers? Not us, and certainly not Miguel, who tweeted about their new gig while jokingly apologizing to his mom for the shampoo brand taking the joke seriously.

Maybe Cream Silk will start making conditioners for men now, who knows?
