Given Drake “only loves his bed and his momma,” it makes sense that his luxury candle line drops on Mother’s Day.
After months of buildup, Canadian rapper and now fragrance fanatic Drake has finally launched his luxury candle line, Better World Fragrance House on Mother’s Day, May 9. Fans were introduced to the first installment of the collection which consists of five distinct scents, all concocted with the help of famous perfumer Michael Carby.
The fragrances include “Muskoka,” which is described as embodying a “warm and woody fragrance” that “captures the smoldering warmth of burning woods and golden embers.”
The “Williamsburg Sleepover” is given a “gender-less and luminous fragrance” that draws its sensual scent from “patchouli groves of Indonesia and the Ylang Ylang fields of Madagascar.”
Meanwhile, the “Sweeter Tings” scent stands for comfort and goodness by harnessing the aroma of “Italian citrus supported by precious woods from Haiti and North America, combined with floral rose and iris from Europe.”
The scent of “Good Thoughts” is inspired by the “bright vibrant freshness” of various homey scents such as “Brazilian oranges, Canadian fir trees, Bulgarian roses, and Australian sandalwood.”
Lastly, and perhaps the most intriguing scent, is the “Carby Musk,” which, as retailer Revolve so bluntly puts it, smells like Drake himself. Officially, it was the first scent that the brand developed, and offers hints of “velvety powdery musks of soft floral, amber, and marine connotations.”
Each candle in the collection sells at $48 (around P2,300) and can be purchased through the Better World Fragrance House website.
Drake first announced the candle line back in October 2020 through a partnership with Revolve. Since then, the scented candles have been making the rounds on social media in small doses, with limited releases ending up with Kehlani, Steph and Ayesha Curry, and Toronto Raptors basketball players.
