Whether Dua Lipa and Anwar “taken a break” or have actually broken up remains to be confirmed.
Now might be the best time to “kiss and make up” as Dua Lipa and beau Anwar Hadid have decided to “take a break” on their two-year relationship.
“Dua Lipa and Anwar are currently taking a break from their relationship. They are spending time apart,” a source told PEOPLE on Thursday, December 23. “They’re figuring things out right now.”
While the insider seems optimistic about the couple’s romantic crisis. Another narrative as reported by US Weekly has gone on to say that the two have split up.
“They’re no longer dating,” the source told the publication, confirming further that they haven’t been out together since November. In recent weeks, the 26-year-old singer has been recording new music in London and Los Angeles. On the other hand, the 22-year-old model was in New York City.
A report by the US Sun earlier this month also held a similar hopeless tone, writing that the Grammy winner and her model boyfriend were in “crisis” mode as “traveling so much and being apart is proving tough.”
Back in June, Lipa posted a series of sweet photos to mark Hadid’s 22nd birthday. Happy Birthday Baby @anwarspc another lap around the sun ~ you make my world so much better!! I’m lucky to love you and be loved by you,” the singer wrote in the caption.
Then, in August, Hadid posted a story on Instagram celebrating Lipa’s 26th birthday with a heartfelt greeting: “Happy birthday girl of my dreams. Love u forever and always.”
The couple also celebrated several occasions, including Halloween and Valentine’s, as evidenced by their intimate Instagram photos. Last February, the “Levitating” singer posted a photo of them kissing during dusk along with the caption, “”~ THE ONE 4 MY ⤠~ Happy V-Day Lovers xx.” They were also particularly close last October in their bloody Halloween costumes, as seen in Hadid’s Instagram post.
The couple was cuddling at the London Music Festival last 2019. They then made headlines following Lipa’s surprise appearance at Hadid’s 20th birthday bash. They made their relationship public later that year when they were spotted together in New York City, and posed as a pair on the red carpet at that year’s American Music Awards.
