And the man finally gets what he’s always deserved! Evan Peters can now add Emmy-winning actor to his resume. The 34-year-old American actor finally bagged some Emmy gold.
As per PhilStarLife.com, Peters won at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his spectacular performance at the HBO drama Mare of Easttown. He beat out Thomas Brodie-Sangster (The Queen’s Gambit), Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You), Daveed Diggs (Hamilton), Jonathan Groff (Hamilton), and Anthony Ramos (Hamilton) for the win.
According to People Magazine, he thanked his fellow nominees and gave a special shoutout to Kate Winslet, who also won at the event. “Thank you to the Academy,” Peters began his speech. “My fellow nominees, you guys were all incredible this year. I got to thank my mom and my dad for getting me out to L.A. You guys were crazy for doing that, but we’re gonna drink tonight.”
He continued by thanking director Craig Zobel, then enthusiastically shouted out Kate Winslet simply for “being Kate Winslet.”
“But I especially want to thank everyone who watched this show,” he concluded. “This was a dream come true for me tonight and it wouldn’t have been possible without you, so thank you.”
Peters is known for his stint in American Horror Stories. His ever-supportive AHS co-star Sarah Paulson was quick to celebrate his win by went live on Instagram just to do a little dance after the actor’s well-deserved win.
Peters has long been a fan favorite to win at the Emmys, and needless to say, the internet has been raving about Peters finally bringing home the gold. This may not be his last Emmy award, too. The actor will next star as serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the Netflix limited series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, produced by Ryan Murphy.
