Pokwang is slated to co-star with Fernando Carrillo in an upcoming project
Fernando Carrillo, the actor best known for his role in the telenovela “Rosalinda,” reveals that he once went on a date with Filipina broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez.
The Venezuelan actor visited the Philippines for endorsements and to create a reality show, which will give birth to a new singing group.
Fernando made the revelation during a recent appearance on the talk show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” The international star admits he has always admired the beauty of Pinays.
“I don’t think I fell in love, but I’ve always been attracted to the beauty of Filipino women. I’ve met some very beautiful women, and I keep meeting beautiful women,” he adds.
When asked if he had ever dated a Filipina, Fernando answers, “I have huge respect for Korina Sanchez, she’s a good friend, and I respect her very much.”
He recalls, “We did an amazing interview in Miami, and then I came to the Philippines once, and we went to have dinner with some friends.”
He admits that he was impressed by Korina’s intellect and beauty. “She’s a very intelligent woman, and she’s also very beautiful. I think she’s a great role model for Filipino women.”

Fernando is best known for his character Fernando Jose, the leading man of Thalia in the Mexicanovela “Rosalinda.” He even signed a contract with VIVA Artists Agency in 2012.
The 57-year-old actor and his team will be conducting auditions so they can choose three women and three men from the Philippines. They hope to form a group similar to the Mexican pop group RBD which sold over 15 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time.
Aside from his other projects, Fernando is set to co-star with Pokwang in an upcoming project. The actress-comedienne announced the news by sharing her photos with the Venezuelan actor.
“This is it! New project with Mr. Fernando Carillo. Can’t wait,” she writes, adding the hashtag #FerPok, which is a combination of their names.
