Ariana Grande has been manifesting her dreams since she was a little girl!
The 28-year-old singer, who rose to fame with her portrayal of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon shows “Victorious” and “Sam & Cat,” shared that she tried to ask the network for an audition when she was just four years old. That’s thirteen years before “Victorious” premiered!
On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Ariana detailed the call she made in an attempt to get an audition on the popular kids’ network.
“I heard a story that you once called Nickelodeon. You were four years old and said, ‘I want to be on Nickelodeon,’” Jimmy said.
Ariana was eager to share her experience and said, “Yes. I have this weird manifesting gift, I think.”
“When I was four years old, I called–I [dialed] 411–and they said, ‘Location,” or whatever. And I [said], ‘Orlando, Florida.’ They were like, ‘Who are you calling?’ And I [said], ‘Universal Studios’ and I got through somehow. By some miracle, I got through.”
She then specified during the call the two comedy shows she wanted to be a part of. “I said, ‘Hi, I would like to audition to be on ‘All That’ or ‘The Amanda Show,’ your pick. You tell me. It’s up to you but I would love to be on either/or, your pick,’” she continued.
When the person on the other end of the line started to ask for more information–specifically her age–Ariana tried to dodge the question.
“They were like, ‘How old are you?’ And I [said], ‘Don’t worry about it…’” And then I think she hung up.”
Although Ariana didn’t actually get the chance to audition for a Nickelodeon show at that time, she was able to do so over a decade later, which led to the opportunity to play the role of Cat Valentine.
She also recently got the role of Glinda the Good Witch of the North in the big-screen adaptation of “Wicked,” which she “manifested” ten years ago!
“Loved seeing ‘Wicked’ again… amazing production! Made me realize again how badly I want [to] play Glinda at some point in my life,” she tweeted in December 2011.
