Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid have been friends since their teenage years, and their sweet reunion at the Met Gala is a testament to how genuine their friendship is. The two models were always so supportive of each other and shared a moment on the Metropolitan stairs. Talk about BFF goals!
Embodying American Fashion
The theme for this year’s annual event was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” and their looks were evocative of Old Hollywood Glamour. As usual, they were both stunning as they walked the carpet and posed for the photographers.
Gigi wore an elegant white structured Prada gown with long black gloves and hair pulled back in a high ponytail. The fashion house’s objective was to celebrate the simplicity of American designers.
Kendall, on the other hand, flaunted her figure in a nude Givenchy dress that takes inspiration from Audrey Hepburn’s ball gown from My Fair Lady (1964).
Serving Fashion and Friendship
In a quick chat with Vogue, the besties expressed their enthusiasm to see the exhibit and see what everyone was wearing. “I’m excited we’re right next to each other in the line-up, and we can go see the exhibit together,” Gigi said. Kendall jokingly replied that the organizers did it on purpose — in which case, we’re not complaining.
As the duo graced the Met stairs, they shared a beautiful moment that captured social media’s heart. Side-by-side, smiling for the cameras, they reached for each other and gave each other a hand squeeze. The friendship was so wholesome that it made netizens aww.
Hailey Bieber, a close friend of the two, was also at the Met Gala with her husband, Justin Bieber. It’s too bad their sisters Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid weren’t in attendance to complete the squad.
