Young, successful, and lauded as one of the most beautiful faces in Philippine showbiz, actress and model Liza Soberano seem to have it all. At the tender age of 24, Soberano has been front and center of multiple teleseryes and blockbuster movies. With dozens of magazine covers under her belt, she’s also one of the most coveted endorsers in the country. Given how #blessed she is, you can’t help but say, ‘sana all.’
Proving she’s more than just a pretty face, Soberano recently launched a podcast that zeroes in on mental health issues. Entitled An Open Mind, this podcast will shed light on Soberano like never before. In the show, she plans on talking about “stress, anxiety, and anything under the sun.”
“I’m so excited for the big big plans I have in store for the year. Jump starting mine by exploring way beyond my comfort zone. Tonight at 6 pm, I will debut in my first ever podcast called An Open Mind with me, Liza Soberano as your host,” she said in her announcement post.
Soberano revealed that it was her friend, fellow actress and dancer Yassi Pressman, who introduced her to the people behind Mind You Mental Health System, where she learned about their mission to further develop the mental health landscape of the Philippines.
“I immediately knew I wanted to be involved. The past two years has really shined some light on the importance of prioritizing our mental wellness. It’s time to have honest, unfiltered conversations — without the stigma,” Soberano shared.
For the pilot episode of An Open Mind, Soberano will be joined by her boyfriend/love team partner Enrique Gil, Pressman, Cristine Reyes, and Gab Valenciano. She has yet to reveal who’ll join her in future episodes. However, given her star power, you can expect more celebs to join her in the show. You can stream An Open Mind for FREE on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other digital platforms.
Considering how influential Soberano is, especially to the youth, it’s nice to know that she’s using her reach to shed light on issues some people might not be comfortable discussing. With one of the biggest names in showbiz opening up about her struggles, let’s hope this initiative encourages more people to realize that it’s okay not to be okay. This message might be what someone needs today.
