Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is yet another proof that no one’s ever too late to pursue education for those who dare to dream.
In an interview with photographer-to-the-stars BJ Pascual, the beauty queen, – who is currently locked down in Abu Dhabi – revealed she’s pursuing an entrepreneurship program at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
“Now, as we speak, nag-aaral ako ngayon ng entrepreneurship. Online lang,” the beauty queen-actress said.
She added: “Nag-aaral ako sa Open University sa UP (University of the Philippines) ng entrepreneurship. Pero non-formal course kasi high school lang ako.”
But it comes as no surprise that Pia chose entrepreneurship among all the available programs as she’s running businesses.
In fact, Wurtzbach has a milk tea business with two of her best friends, Pauleen Luna-Sotto and Chef Niña Almoro.
Apart from that, she also collaborated with a beauty brand for a makeup line.
Having been clear with the direction she wants to take from the very beginning, Wurtzbach revealed she’s now managing her own career.
“I also manage my career. I’m very hands-on with the direction I want to go and the projects I want to do, so in a way napa-practice ko naman ‘yung entrepreneurship sa sarili ko,” she said.
Despite having carried through a lot of her dreams and aspirations in life, the 31-year-old beauty queen said she still has goals she wants to achieve in life.
“Pero I know that I really have to gain more knowledge if I want to make my own brand or my own product one day,” she stated.
While she has yet to figure it out, Wurtzbach said she hopes she’ll be able to make something she can share with the rest of the world.
“‘Yun ‘yung goal ko, gusto kong magkaroon ng sarili kong something na I can say that I made and that I own, and that I am now sharing to the world,” she remarked.
Wurtzbach said one of the reasons why she wanted to pursue something outside of showbiz is she knows fame is fleeting and that it won’t last forever.
“Gusto ko ‘yung maging secure ako sa buhay ko kahit hindi na ako artista or beauty queen. Kasi tatanda rin ako, one day mag-iiba na focus ko, pamilya na, ganyan. I need to create something that will last, that won’t require me being in front of the camera all the time. Being realistic lang naman, di ba?” she remarked.
“Gusto kong fallback ‘yung business,” she stated as she revealed what she’s been up to lately.
“And whatever that may be, we’ll see. Pero may mga niluluto na ako,” she added.
