It’s a yes for Simone Biles
Four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles is officially walking down the aisle!
On Tuesday, the 24-year-old took to social media to share the happy news, posting pictures of the moment she was proposed to by her NFL player boyfriend of a little over a year, Jonathan Owens. “THE EASIEST YES,” she writes on Instagram. “I can’t wait to spend forever and ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! Let’s get married FIANCÉ.”
The photos also include detailed shots of Biles’ massive engagement ring.
In August 2020, the couple first revealed their relationship to the world by posting a photo of them together on Instagram. “Just us,” Biles wrote under the photo.
They later spent their first anniversary apart, as Biles was competing for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. She bowed out of multiple events there due to a case of the “twisties,” a condition that causes athletes to lose their air awareness during a routine. The decision, which came just months after tennis star Naomi Osaka’s withdrawal from the French Open and Wimbledon, sparked hot debate on athletes’ mental health and earned Biles praise for her courage.

At the time, Owens showed his support for the champion gymnast, posting, “Your strength and courage is unmatched and you inspire me more and more everyday SB. You always gone be my champ baby and don’t you ever forget that, I love you so much and I can’t wait till you come home and I get to see that beautiful smile again. You know I’m always here for you baby.”
