What Iya Villania Learned When She And Her Kids Tested Positive For COVID-19

The TV host called the experience “challenging” and “heartbreaking.”

Iya Villania and her family came down with COVID-19 when the country experienced a surge in cases back in January.

During a recent press conference for Babyflo, the TV host shared that she thought they’d be safe as long as they followed all health and safety protocols.

Nung first week of January, parang lahat nagkaroon. We couldn’t figure out how and it made us realize na you have to keep your immune system up because mahirap magka-COVID,” she shared.

Even though they were careful, Iya and her three children with Drew Arellano–Alana Lauren, 1; Alonzo Leon, 3; and Antonio Primo, 5–tested positive for the coronavirus in January.

“It just takes one person to bring it into the house at umasa talaga ako na hindi mahahawa ang mga bata because it took about one week before they showed symptoms.” Iya shared.

She said staying away from her children was challenging.

Mahirap yung first day of isolation from my kids because yun yung parang ‘Kaya ko ba to?’ Nakikita ko na iniiyakan ako nung mga bata. That was so heartbreaking for me.”

Their brush with COVID-19 taught Iya and her family the importance of strengthening their immune systems and taking care of their health.

“Whether it’s COVID or just a regular cold, we have to treat it the same way. Kasi kung hindi ka pa nagkaka-COVID, hindi mo pa iisipin na mag-isolate, ‘di ba? But it’s actually the same thing. I’d like to treat any kind of virus just like that,” she said.

Iya, who is also expecting her fourth child, says Babyflo products help keep their family safer. When she had Primo, she used expensive products that didn’t satisfy her.

“I opted to look for something affordable and just as effective. I’m just glad that I found Babyflo because it was perfect. It’s exactly what we needed,” she said.
