Amidst the long-standing drama between Albie Casiño and Andi Eingenmann and co., the ex-PBB housemate has finally spoken up on why he can’t lay the issue to rest.
In 2011, then-actress Eigenmann claimed that Casiño was the father of her unborn child. The two were previously in a relationship, but had broken things off before the claims came to light. Eigenmann maintained that Casiño was the father, despite the latter’s denials.
It was only until 2016 that Jake Ejercito, through paternity test, was the confirmed father of the child.
“Let’s take away all of the bashing, all of the defaming of my name in public, even my family’s name. They even went up to my mom, all the while knowing I wasn’t the dad. Let’s take that out of consideration,” Casiño told Cinema News in an interview. “How about the fact that I lost millions of pesos worth of projects and endorsements from that?”
“And it wasn’t just a hundred thousand, bro. It’s a million pesos worth of, I guess, ‘damages’ because that’s literally money that they took out of my bank account. That’s money that could have changed my family’s life. Money that could have changed my life, right? So how can I be okay with them? Why would I be okay with them?”
Prior to the controversy, Casiño was considered a rising star, having landed a role in the hit TV series Mara Clara opposite Kathryn Bernardo. The issue marred his name, leading to his loss of projects and endorsements.
While Eigenmann has since apologized in private, the 28-year-old actor has made it clear that it wasn’t enough to cover the emotional trauma and damage it has caused him.
“First of all, you never made a public statement that I wasn’t the dad. And you never made a public statement apologizing to me when everything you did to bash me was done publicly,” he stated.
Over the years, Casiño has continued acting in supporting roles and main roles for ABS-CBN. Most recently, he finished a weeks-long stint on Pinoy Big Brother.
