Song Hye Kyo Of ‘The Glory’ Wins Best Actress At The Baeksang Awards

Song Hye Kyo hilariously recreated a famous line from “The Glory” when she received the award!

On April 28, South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo won her first Best Actress award at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards.

Song won the Best Actress award for her role as Moon Dong-eun. In “The Glory,” she is a victim of school violence who plots revenge against her perpetrators. The Netflix series also won Best Drama, and Lim Ji-yeon won Best Supporting Actress for portraying the wicked ringleader-antagonist Park Yeon-jin in the show.

Upon accepting the award, Song recreated a famous line from the series and drew laughter from the audience.

“I won the prize, Yeon-jin. I’m so thrilled right now,” she said.

The Baeksang Arts Awards recognizes excellence in film, television, and theatre in South Korea. People consider it one of the country’s three most prestigious award ceremonies. It stands alongside the Daejong Film Awards and Blue Dragon Film Awards.

She also thanked the production crew for their hard work in making the show successful.

Song made her debut in the entertainment industry in 1996. She was previously nominated for Best Actress at Baeksang for “Full House” in 2005, “That Winter, The Wind Blows” in 2013, and “Descendants Of The Sun” in 2016. She won the Most Popular Actress award for “Autumn In My Heart” in 2001 and “Descendants Of The Sun” in 2016.

Song Hye Kyo was before married to Song Joong Ki. They tied the knot in 2017 but finalized their divorse in 2019.
