Here’s a behind-the-scenes look!
Dakota Johnson, who’s rumored to appear in Madame Web, was on the set of her upcoming film in Boston. The Sony movie has been very low-key lately. There are few leaks going around compared to other superhero films.
The film centers on a clairvoyant whose abilities let her see into the Spider-Verse. She is a mutant who can predict the future of fellow webheads. Madame Web once mentored Peter Parker’s alter ego and many generations of Spider-Women.
Rumors of Johnson’s casting first spread in February. Madame Web marks Sony’s first comic-book adaptation led by a female.
Dakota was wearing a red leather jacket and a black shirt on Monday. This sparked speculations that she might not be ‘Madame Web in the movie. Her outfit resembles that of Julia Carpenter, one of the women who took on the Spider-Woman mantle.
Julia is “an athletic young single mom,” based on Marvel’s website. A secret government group deceived her into taking part in their scientific study. Their experiments led to Carpenter obtaining powers like Spider-Man’s.
Based on the set design, the Spider-Man spin-off is set in 2001 Queens, New York. While the movie’s plot details are being kept under wraps, we can get an idea of who Madame Web is from the comics. The 1980 comic book by Denny O’Neil is about an old woman with myasthenia gravis. She requires life support in the form of a web to function. Web’s age and condition prevent her from fighting villains. Even so, she’s a key player due to her foresight and multiversal connections.
Madame Web is a Spider-Man spin-off to look out for. FreebieMNL will be on the lookout for leaks or news related to the film, and we’ll be sure to keep you posted!
