Star Magical Prom Wrap-Up: All The Details You Don’t Want To Miss

The heavens have opened their gates for the brightest stars!

One of the most anticipated conventions of ABS-CBN, the first Star Magical Prom, has finally arrived as big celebrities, rising artists, hitmakers, pop acts, and up-and-coming talents convene in one magical night filled with beauty, class, glam, and excitement. 

The event embraced the Regency Period “Bridgerton” style in its full glory at Bellevue Hotel, Alabang on Thursday, March 30, 2023.

In case you missed it, here are some of the highlights from the ivory carpet. 

The Power Love Teams 

Of course, a typical promenade cannot go without the presence of love teams. And as magical as it is, on-screen tandems and real-life couples graced the Star Magical Prom one by one, leaving everyone on their toes with their arrival. 

Real-life couple Ricci Rivero and Andrea Brillantes show up in matching white and silver attire. During the carpet interview, Brillantes has voiced out her thoughts on the viral BLACKPINK “promposal” that she pulled for her boyfriend. She shares that it was already planned a long time ago and she couldn’t sleep for a week thinking it could fail one way or another.

Team DonBelle also did not disappoint as Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano complement each other’s attire with a chromatically cohesive black and white ensemble. 

Many were asking about the details of their unpublicized “promposal.” But Pangilinan has only this to say: “Binigay na namin yun sa mga iba. Basta yung “promposal” namin, parang mas personal.”

As for the look, Preview Magazine has released a look board that indicates the total value of Mariano’s outfit. The overall attire sums up to over P91.7 million–a justifiable price that secures Mariano’s title as the “Prom Queen.” Pangilinan also bagged the “Prom King” award. 

Another power couple who dignified the Star Magical Prom is FranSeth. Seth Fedelin looks sharp in classic white tuxedo, while Francine Diaz leaves a friendly yet commanding aura with her yellow feathered ball gown. 

“Beach Bros” star Brent Manalo and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Vivoree also justify the ivory carpet of Star Magical Prom with a mild combination of a classic black tuxedo paired with Vivoree’s rustic floral drapes.

Other mesmerizing couples who attended the Star Magical Prom are Aljon Mendoza and Jayda, Jeremiah Lisbo and Kaori Oinuma, Kobie Brown and Andi Abaya, Luke Alford and Gabb Skribikin, Reiven Umali and Sheena Belarmino, and Beaver Magtalas and Mutya Orquia. 

Honesto and Ningning: Reintroduced

One of the surprising arrivals of the Star Magical Prom is the tandem of Jana Agoncillo and Raikko Mateo, who are mostly known for their respective lead roles in ABS-CBN series “Ningning” (2015) and “Honesto” (2013). These former child stars have a re-debut as young artists of Star Magic’s freshmen batch. 

Mateo willingly talks about his life and career trajectory. He shares, “To be honest, I’m young, I’m 14 years old, I’m at that point of my life where I’m still deciding on what I want to do in my personal life and in my career. But I hope it all pans out in a good way.” 

Agoncillo, on the other hand, remains direct with her intentions. She reveals, “Actually, there really isn’t a specific role that I want to portray, but I want to grab roles that will really challenge me and push me as an actress — maybe something dark. Because I think it’s one of my ways to grow as well.”

Though their statements may come as a teaser for their possible projects, the two of them have yet to confirm any acting gigs in the works. 

Criza Taa’s Thoughts on Josh Worsley’s Rejected “Promposal”

It is almost three weeks now since former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Criza Taa rejected fellow housemate Josh Worsley’s “promposal” on March 13. Despite this, Taa and Worsley remain diplomatic after the helicopter “promposal” date that sees the both of them walking solo on the ivory carpet. 

When Taa was asked about her thoughts on the “promposal,”  she shares that she almost said yes. However, she explains, “Naka-set talaga na I’m going alone. That’s the plan na talaga. I want to go alone. I told them, ako talaga mag-isa ang lalakad sa red carpet. Thankfully, naintindihan naman ni Josh na iyon ang decision ko.”

The sentiment is all the same with Worsley who shares, “Even though she didn’t go with me to prom, I’m so happy for her, and I have so much respect for her. “

Star Magical Prom Awardees 

On top of the highest awards of the Star Magical Prom bequeathed to “DonBelle”, Star Magic has also merited its attendees with the “Prom Prince and Princess” awards per batch. 

For the freshmen batch, Raikko Mateo and Krystal Mejes reign supreme. Mackie Empuerto and Jayda Avanzado snatch the titles for the sophomore batch, while Reiven Umali and Anji Salvacion are declared as the Junior Prom Prince and Princess. Lastly, the senior awardees for the title are Brent Manalo and Vivoree Esclito. 

In what appears to be one of the grandest conventions of promising stars and big names, Star Magic has again brought a star-studded event replete with all the talented personalities in the entertainment industry–a night to remember, indeed.
