Sue Ramirez Made Her Mark As Lexy Lucero On ‘The Broken Marriage Vow’
The Broken Marriage Vow is on its last three weeks. People are eager to see what vixen Lexy Lucero, played by Sue Ramirez, will do next. Eager in an “I hate her, but she makes the show interesting” kind of way, mind you.
The mistress-turned-legal wife has become the object of viewers’ ire. Even if they hate her because she stole David (Zanjoe Marudo) from Jill (Jodi Sta. Maria), they can’t help but look forward to her antics. It’s all because of the way Ramirez brought the character to life.

ABS-CBN recently held a press conference for the finale of The Broken Marriage Vow. There, Ramirez admitted that she found her role challenging. But she remains very proud of the work she and her colleagues did. She feels the show allowed Filipino talent to shine.
“This is something we can show different countries. Kung paano natin ginawan ng sariling kwento itong Dr. Foster!” she says proudly.
She lit up when asked about her character. “Idealistic kasi si Lexy,” she explained. “Kaya ang dami niyang ganap…anak, jowa, pag-aaral, yoga studio. Pero through her, I learned na kaya ko pa pala matuto ng madaming bagay!“
Lexy went from obsessed mistress to David’s second wife over the course of the show. In the last three weeks, Jill will set out to destroy David’s relationship with Lexy to protect her son Gio. Will Jill succeed? In the event that she does, what will become of Lexy? Fans will discover the answers to those questions in the show’s last three weeks.
Mutual respect
For Ramirez, working with Sta. Maria is a dream come true as she is a long-time fan of the latter. “First time ko siyang nakita, hindi pa po ako artista. I was 11 years old at nasa taping siya,” Ramirez recalls.
The soap opera Sta. Maria had been taping was Tayong Dalawa, with Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu. Ramirez made a concerted effort to go to the show’s location. She even managed to get photos of Sta. Maria and her son.
“Baby pa si Thirdy nun, lumapit talaga ‘ko. Pinicturan ko lang talaga sila,” she explained, having ridden her bike from their house all the way to the set.
For her part, Sta. Maria also had nothing but praise for Ramirez. “Masaya ako kasi mutual yung respeto na meron tayo para sa isa’t-isa.”
