“Sa tuwing may nawawala, may pumapalit.”
It was a whirlwind year for Trina Candaza, but she has welcomed the New Year with a new life perspective and gratitude. In early 2022, actor Carlo Aquino confirmed that he and Trina had already separated. However, the actor maintained that they’re on good terms and, in fact, they have a smooth-sailing co-parenting setup. They have one child, Enola Mithi.
“Nag-uusap kami, and every once in a while, nahihiram ko si Mithi. Pero siyempre, dahil nga pandemic pa din, yung safety muna niya. Pag may trabaho ako or katulad nito na lumalabas ako, mag-aantay ako ng parang ilang days,” says Carlo in a previous interview.
New year, new life
However, things may not look like what they seem since Trina shared her New Year’s reflection. Without naming names, she shed some light on their family situation.
“Before leaving 2022, I want to look back and be reminded of all the things that happened to me, to us rather. So I will be reminded of how I braved through it all,” says Trina in a post.
She adds, “We lost someone whom I thought will be the man who will always keep us safe, someone who will protect us. But little did I know he will be the one who is very excited to remove us from his life.”
Despite the loss and a tough year, Trina ended her post with positivity.
“Pero, sa tuwing may nawawala may pumapalit.”
Celebrating new milestones
Welcoming the new year with optimism, Trina also looked back on her milestones last year, which includes getting a new car and opening three small businesses.
“Thank you to all the people who have helped me and Mithi, you know who you are, we love you, and we are very grateful for all the help and love. 2022, you are the year that built me,” Trina concludes.
