Marvel Studios Executive Victoria Alonso Leaves Company After 17 Years

Victoria Alonso’s departure marks the end of an era after 17 years for Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios executive Victoria Alonso announced her departure from the company on March 20. She served as the studio’s executive vice president of production. She was also the executive producer for films like the “Avengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchises.

Her departure surprises many as she has been an integral part of Marvel’s success over the years.

In a statement, Alonso expressed her gratitude and her excitement for future endeavors. She said she was proud of what she had accomplished at the studio and looked forward to continuing her work in the entertainment industry.

Victoria Alonso’s departure from Marvel Studios marks the end of her successful and groundbreaking career at the studio. Her commitment to the film industry helped shape Marvel’s films and make them more representative of our world.

Alonso was known for her commitment to diversity and inclusion in the film industry. She worked hard to ensure that Marvel’s films reflected these beliefs.

She was also one of the driving forces behind the studio’s efforts to bring more women and people of color into its productions. Alonso, at the time, wanted to make sure that everyone is visible both in front of and behind the camera. Her contributions helped make Marvel’s movies more representative of our world and relatable.

Unconfirmed reports, however, say that Marvel Studios fired her for undisclosed reasons. There are also rumors suggesting that Kevin Feige did not intervene with her termination.

But the most recent rumor going around states that Marvel fired Alonso due to her involvement in the Oscar-nominated feature film “Argentina, 1985.” But, in a statement sent to Variety, Alonso’s representative, attorney Patty Glaser said that the claim is “absolutely ridiculous.” Glaser revealed Disney allowed Alonso to produce the film and that the company “silenced” her.

Glaser explains, “Victoria, a gay Latina who had the courage to criticize Disney, was silenced. Then she was terminated when she refused to do something she believed was reprehensible. Disney and Marvel made a really poor decision that will have serious consequences. There is a lot more to this story and Victoria will be telling it shortly—in one forum or another.”

Regardless of the reason for Alonso’s termination, many fans and colleagues wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
