Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show To Return After 4 Years

The announcement got the online world divided

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is making a comeback this year after a four-year hiatus.

On March 3, Victoria’s Secret announced the news during the company’s 2022 earnings call. It said that the show will return as a “new version” of its former iconic self.

“We’re going to continue to lean into the marketing spend to invest in the business, both at top-of-funnel and also to support the new version of our fashion show, which is to come later this year,” chief financial officer Timothy Johnson explains.

While not put into detail, Johnson confirms that the returning show is going to be different. “We’re going to continue to lean into the marketing spend to invest in a business both at top of funnel and also to support the new version of our fashion show.”

Victoria’s Secret says in a statement that it will release more info on the show later this year.

Since 1997, the annual “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” has featured renowned models. A few names to mention are Naomi Campbell, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bündchen, and others. Some newer faces are Miranda Kerr, Gigi Hadid, and Kendall Jenner.

The event has superstars such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Usher perform as the models walk.

The show got cancelled in November 2019 due to several factors. These include poor ratings and the need to rethink the company’s marketing.

The show’s ratings dropped due to the company’s alleged lack of inclusiveness for models of various sizes and backgrounds.
