“Voltes V: Legacy” Actor Matt Lozano Reveals Crying With Mom Over Show Premiere

Matt Lozano recalls how his mom did not want him to enter showbiz

“Voltes V: Legacy” actor Matt Lozano admits that he got emotional when the show finally aired on television.

It has been a few weeks since “Voltes V: Legacy” finally landed on television after three years of shooting.

During the press conference for GMA Music artists on May 18, Matt reveals to FreebieMNL and other media present that the premiere was an emotional moment for him and his mom. Matt’s mother is Elaine Lozano, a TV and film producer.

According to Matt, the show served as a fulfillment of their dreams.

In fact, Matt’s mother did not want him to enter showbiz before but his perseverance convinced his mom to become more supportive of him.

And ngayon, parang unti-unting nabibigay sa akin.”

Matt and his mom could not help but cry tears of joy when “Voltes V: Legacy” came out on TV on May 8.

He says with a smile, “Talagang nag-iiyakan kami ni Mama noong time na lumabas sa TV yung ‘Voltes V.’

“[Sabi niya], ‘Parang ito na yung magaganda nating pinapangarap for your career.’”

Kuya Big Bert

Matt plays one of the lead actors in “Voltes V: Legacy,” which serves as his big break on television. He plays the role of Big Bert, one of the members of the Voltes team, and the second of the Armstrong Brothers, Steve and Little Jon.

Matt is happy that, since the debut of “Voltes V: Legacy,” kids are able to acknowledge and greet him as their “Kuya Big Bert.”

It matters to Matt because he knows that a lot of children will watch their show and that he should serve as a role model to them.

Going back to songwriting

Now that he’s done taping for “Voltes V: Legacy,” Matt is ready to go back to his other love, singing.

The Sparkle artist just recently launched a new single that he wrote himself, “Liham,” where he aims to spread happiness for those who need encouragement and light from their everyday dwellings.

He even said during the presscon that he was able to write the song in just 15 minutes, which was the “first time na nangyari sa akin.”

But Matt acknowledges that he is able to use what he learned from “Voltes V: Legacy” and with his acting workshops with Ana Feleo in songwriting.
