Following their debut album titled “Nothing Happens,” Wallow’s second album is a mixture of electronic rock music. It combines everything from lo-fi, indie, and post-punk, as well as ’90s dance-pop psychedelia.

Wallows are mainly composed of Braeden Lemasters, Cole Preston, and Netflix star Dylan Minnette. They were formed back in 2017 in Los Angeles, USA.

The band is widely known for its sound which resonates a variety of sub-genres. These include post-punk, new wave, indie, and surf music.

New Frontier Theater instantly became an intimate dance hall as the Wallows stepped on the stage and blast the beats. They opened their Manila leg with a post-punk song titled “I Don’t Want to Talk.” They followed it by their new wave tracks “Especially You” and “Pleaser.”

A jumpy set came after. They played tracks such as “Dig What You Dug,” “These Days,” “It’s Only Right,” “Hurts Me,” and “Missing Out.”

Filipino fans did not let the band down, singing along to their songs such as “Sun Tan,” “Quarterback,” “Wish Me Luck,” and “OK.”

The last part of the show was a nostalgic new-wave party, courtesy of the new generation of concertgoers. Wallows played “Picture of Girls,” “Uncomfortable,” “1980 Horror Film II,” and “At The End of The Day.” The crowd even exerted more effort in singing and dancing to the tune of “Only Friend,” “Scrawny,” and “Remember When.”

As Wallows ended its show and entered backstage, fans hollered an encore set. At the end of the show, they were greeted once more with the most staple Wallows track titled “Are You Bored Yet?”

Wallows’ “Tell Me That It’s Over Asia Tour 2023” Manila leg is brought to the fans by Ovation Productions in partnership with AEG Presents.
