The future of P-Pop is looking bright! Following the success of groups like SB19 and MNL 48, another P-Pop group officially debuted on January 29, 2021.
Introducing: Gelo Rivera, Akira Morishita, JL Toreliza, Mikki Claver, and Nate Porcalla, the members of BGYO.

The Light
The P-Pop boy group’s debut single, “The Light,” which also premiered on January 29, has a message about “empowerment, hope, and self-love.”
As indicated on their YouTube channel, their goal is to create entertaining, relevant, and inspiring content: “BGYO aims to create music that not only captivates the senses but [also] sparks [a] meaningful [message] that is relevant to [the] youth today.”

True to these words, their music video started with the statement: “Within you lies immense power. Your light can change the world.”
According to ABS-CBN, the group also plans on translating the song into other languages to reach out to fans from all over the world.
Years of training
BGYO, formerly knows as “SHA Boys,” started from ABS-CBN’s “Star Hunt Academy” (thus the name SHA) and trained for two years before their debut.
Laurenti Dyogi, the Head of Star Hunt Management Entertainment Production and Star Magic, also said that “it is part of their plan to get into the idol industry.”
With an impressive debut song and music video, we think this group could really make it big!
