Xian Lim Reveals Series With Jennylyn Mercado Will Resume Taping Soon

“Love. Die. Repeat.” is finally pushing through this year!

Xian Lim is happy that his supposed teleserye with Jennylyn Mercado, “Love. Die. Repeat.,” is finally resuming after its taping was halted in 2021.

Lim and Mercado were already taping the series for a 2021 airing. However, tapings had to be stopped after Mercado found out that she is pregnant with her child with Dennis Trillo.

During Lim’s contract renewal with VIVA Entertainment on Tuesday, March 28, he was asked for an update about the series.

He shares, “Yung ‘Love. Die. Repeat.,’ nagpadala na po sila ng schedule. They’re ready to shoot ‘Love. Die. Repeat.’ in a couple of months pagkatapos po nitong ‘Hearts On Ice.’

Lim says that before taping was halted, they were already “40 to 50% done” with the series. While he believes that they are not reshooting, there might be additional scenes and revisions for the remaining taping days they have.

Lim explains, “Marami-rami na po kaming na-shoot so maybe, dahil shinoot po namin siya noong kasagsagan ng pandemic and bawal lumabas, this time around, there might be some sort of revision sa story dahil ngayon, pwede na tayong umikot-ikot at magkaroon ng iba’t ibang locations.”

Xian Lim on “Hearts On Ice”

Currently, Lim headlines the primetime series “Hearts On Ice” with Ashley Ortega. Now that the show has premiered on GMA Telebabad, Lim is happy with how people are taking it.

He is aware, however, that it might take a little while before all audiences can grasp the concept.

Lim says about the show, “We’re having so much fun doing it kasi para talaga siyang naglalaro [pero] mahirap gawin. Noong napanood na namin, I think, seeing the final product, nakakatuwa kasi ang ganda ‘tapos it’s an out-of-the-box concept na skating and it’s something new. Of course, siyempre, it will truly take some time para ma-grasp ng audience yung concept ng ice skating but I’m really happy and looking forward for the support of the viewers.”

Xian Lim on network exclusivity

Lim just renewed his contract with VIVA Entertainment for another five years. He has been under its management since 2018.

According to the actor/singer/TV host, it’s not an issue for him if he is not exclusive to any network.

Since 2018, Lim has not been in exclusivity with other networks but as a VIVA talent, he has since worked with ABS-CBN, TV5, and now with GMA Network.

Sa akin naman, that’s never been an issue, being an exclusive artist tied to just one network. Parang that’s really not—para lang naman po sa akin, I think it’s really not the artist’s concern. Para sa akin po, it’s more of I just want to be able to have a canvas to paint on. I want to be able to work and express myself as an artist. So, kung saan magkaroon ng trabaho, doon po. But it’s not an issue, it’s room to grow din sa artist na to be able to work with everyone.”

Lim also enjoys adapting to every workplace he goes to. “Para sa akin naman, I think that’s how it should be, para rin you’re more exposed sa ibang ibang tao, your network is complete and this is how it is. Ito yung culture dito and I think malaki yung learning experience doon.”
