5 Places to Get Plant-Based Burgers in Manila

When Burger King Philippines announced the addition of the meat-free Whopper to their menu, people were impressed with how you can’t taste the difference from the regular beef patties. If you want to explore other plant-based burger options, you might want to try these food joints in Manila.

Zark’s Burgers

Similar to the plant-based Whopper, Zark’s V Burger is only vegetarian-friendly. Sandwich into their brioche buns are Veega patties by San Miguel Foods and topped with cheddar cheese, garlic ranch sauce, tomatoes, and lettuce. You can get it with a single patty, or upgrade to a double patty or triple patty.

Shake Shack

Although on the pricier side, you should still give their Shroom Burger a shot. Not a vegan option, but definitely vegetarian-friendly. A crisp-fried portobello mushroom is used in place of the patty to give off a meaty texture, and the oozing cheeses and signature sauce balances out the flavor.

Shakey’s Pizza Parlor

This might not be the first place you think of when you crave a burger, but their GOOOD Burger is a good contender. It features the Un-meat patty, is cheese-free and guilt-free, and even uses a vegan thousand island dressing. There’s also the option to substitute the buns for lettuce for those cutting back on their carb intake.

But Better

Intending to make better fast food for all, everything on their menu is 100% plant-based. Not only do they have a wide array of burgers to choose from, but they also have pasta, “Chickun” which is made from deep-fried dried jackfruit, and homemade kombucha. Why not grab a bundle and share the deliciousness with your squad?

Sweet Ecstasy

It’s hard to pass up a burger from Sweet X and now your vegan friends can enjoy a serving, too. The Beyond X Burger is comprised of a Beyond Burger patty, and cheese, sauce, and buns that are 100% vegan. However, this is only available in their Jupiter and Greenhills branches, but the drive will be worth it.
