Casa Daza, the beloved home-style Filipino restaurant owned by renowned chef, Sandy Daza, shutters its doors permanently at the start of February. The restaurant is the latest casualty as the pandemic continues to tighten its chokehold on food businesses big and small.
On Saturday, Casa Daza’s online page posted the following announcement:
“We appreciate every customer who has come through our doors, and are grateful for the community we have built in our short time in UPTC,” the statement read.
However, the restaurant also offered hope: “We are also looking for more ways to continue serving you, and we will keep in touch as things evolve.”
Their famous empanadas, however, remain available through their pop-up kiosks across the metro, namely in Alabang’s Festival Mall, Alabang Town Center, SM Southmall, Greenbelt 1, Robinsons Place Manila, SM Megamall, V Mall Greenhills, Robinsons Metro East, Ayala Malls Feliz, SM North EDSA, Ayala Malls, Cloverleaf, and SM Fairview. They also have pop-up kiosks in bazaars at SM Aura, Glorietta 1, Rockwell, and the Salcedo Sunday Market.
You can also order their yummy treats online by message their Facebook and Instagram pages. Have it delivered by your preferred courier, or pick it up at their designated spots in Makati and Marikina.
Casa Daza’s branch in UP Town Center is the only one of its kind, though it shares some of the unique fusion foods found in the Filipino menu of Wooden Spoon in Rockwell, which is also managed by Chef Sandy.
