Starbucks Philippines have been hinting about their newest drinks on social media with the hashtag #DreamAway. Starting on February 23, the drink will be available at stores nationwide and will be offered in three variants: Iced Salted Caramel Cloud Macchiato, Hot Salted Caramel Cloud Macchiato, and Salted Caramel Cold Brew.
Salted Caramel Cloud Macchiato
Fans of the classic Caramel Macchiato will be pleased to know there’s another way they can enjoy their favorite drink. Instead of the usual espresso and milk combination, this dreamy beverage is topped with a creamy meringue-like foam. It was first released across American stores back in 2019, so Cloud Macchiatos are not a totally new Starbucks Coffee concept.
The international coffee chain describes the Caramel Cloud Macchiato as “light and airy with layers of fluffy foam, cascading espresso, vanilla-flavored syrup and a drizzle of caramel.” Thanks to the light and smooth texture of the foam, the coffee is even more luscious. The hot version of this concoction tastes just as delightful, with the salted caramel giving an extra boost to the caffeine. Vegans may want to steer clear of the beverage, though, because the cloud foam contains egg whites.
Salted Caramel Cold Brew
Those who prefer a bolder coffee option can try the Salted Caramel Cold Brew instead. Their Signature Cold Brew is given a twist by adding something sweet and salty. What can you expect it to taste like? According to the Starbucks website, it’s a “super-smooth cold brew, finished with rich salted caramel cold foam and caramel drizzle.” The salted caramel foam on top of the cool beverage made from 20-hour steeped coffee grounds sounds heavenly.
Price starts at P185 for the tall-sized Macchiato, and P180 for the tall-sized Cold Brew. These will only be available for a limited time and can be ordered in-store or via Grab.
