Here’s where you can celebrate this special occasion in style!
Happy Margarita Day! The best way to celebrate is to have a good drink, of course. Now, people often say, “A margarita isn’t a margarita without Cointreau,” but what do they mean by that?
A premium orange-flavored, triple-sec liqueur used in over 500 different cocktails, Cointreau is considered a staple among bartenders. In 1948, socialite Margaret “Margarita” Sames threw a party for her friends, at which she served them a special drink. It was a combination of her two favorite spirits–Cointreau and tequila. Since then, the drink that bears her name has become a trendy cocktail.
This month, Cointreau pays homage to Margarita Sames by creating the “Perfect Margarita” in cooperation with Patron and using Patron Silver, made from the finest Weber Blue Agave. It has a citrusy and fruity aroma, a smooth and sweet taste, and a light pepper finish.
Cointreau and Patron will take over renowned bars all over the Metro in honor of International Margarita Day. Here’s where you can find the Perfect Margarita.
Alegria (Forbestown Road, BGC, Taguig)
Alegria Manila is located in Bonifacio High Street, Taguig. Patron Perfectionist finalist Errol Barbos will be here to man the bar and serve some wicked cocktails just for you. One of his trademark concoctions, Buenavida, is made with Cointreau, Patron Silver, Fresh Lime, Lychee syrup, Elderflower syrup, cucumber, and Agave Worm Salt.
Alibi Lounge Bar (Crimson Hotel Alabang, Muntinlupa)
Heads up, south peeps–on February 22, this Alabang hotspot will see Lawrence Gabriel, an alumnus of the Cointreau bartending competition (La Maison Cointreau) and Patron Perfectionist Champion for the Philippines, as host for the night.Â
The bar will serve The Perfect Excuse, a unique drink that incorporates roasted lemons and a mixture of salt and sugar instead of the classic salt rims.
Alamat (Poblacion, Makati)
Alamat, one of the first gastropubs in Poblacion’s old downtown area, will serve drinks like Juanderlast, made with Cointreau, Tequila, Mezcal, camias/orange, vanilla pandan, citrus, and salt. From February 22 until 27, enjoy the drink for only 300 PHP.
Southbank Café + Lounge (Alabang, Muntinlupa)
One of the cocktail bar and independent café Southbank’s signature cocktails is Fresh Daisy. It’s made with Cointreau, Patron Silver, Ancho Reyes Verde (citrus cloud foam), simple syrup, and egg white. From February 21 to 27, the drink sells for only 300 PHP.
Baccarat Room & Bar (Solaire Resort and Casino, Paranaque)
For a more intimate setting, check out Baccarat. Bartender Lawrence Gabriel recommends Mezcla de Baya Margarita or Mixed Berry Margarita inspired by ‘Fresas con Crema,’ a traditional no-bake dessert from Mexico.
The drink is mixed with egg white instead of cream to create a less heavy texture, with the addition of blueberry and creme de cassis giving it another layer of flavor.

Take home the limited-edition Cointreau
Cointreau continues to blend modernity and tradition by partnering with artists to develop limited-edition reinterpretations of its iconic four-sided bottle.
This year, the company collaborates with promising Parisian artist Florian Viel through The Tropicool Company to introduce the latest version of the faceted bottle. The colorful design features subtle references to the orange liqueur and the cocktail this bottle pays homage to.
If you’re planning a house party, pick up a premium bottle of Cointreau available in partner e-retailers like Boozy, Clink, Thirst, and select stores nationwide.
