Jollibee just brought back the Honey Beef Rice and our inner kid is going crazy

A rare return just flew by everyone’s radar, but 90s kids can’t help but notice it anyway: Jollibee’s Honey Beef Rice is back on its menu! Albeit for a limited run only, the mere news that our favorite sweet and savory rice meal has returned is enough fuel to start the nostalgia train.

An obvious standout from a long list of discontinued menu items, the Honey Beef Rice used to be a favorite mainly because it’s as Filipino as a fastfood meal can be: back then, a generous serving of tangy and tender strips of beef marinated in a sweet honey sauce and laid on a bed of onions and warm rice is just the quick pick-me-up we need after a long day of school.

Here’s an aged ad for the Honey Beef Rice released in 1999 — yep, 21 years ago! That there is a whole of generation of legally-aged 20-somethings whose parents might have binged on this is insane to imagine.

Now, instead of being an after-school treat, the tasty treat can be the quick bite in between our Zoom meetings or after our online classes.

Unfortunately, it’s a seasonal item that’s only coming back to select stores, namely Jollibee’s branches in Bayani RoadBGC TriangleBayani RoadMacapagal BiopolisLegarda Bustillos, and Madrigal.

The Honey Beef Rice sells for P149 for an a la carte order and P169 for an added drink. If you have a family-sized appetite, the returning dish also comes in a family pan size. It’s available via takeout and delivery via the Jollibee delivery website, the Jollibee mobile app, the #87000 delivery hotline, or via GrabFood and Foodpanda.
