LOOK: Jollibee Madrid’s Tropical Interior

Jollibee Foods Corporation has opened its first store in Spain. The flagship branch located in the heart of Madrid’s Puerta del Sol is one of the fast-food chain’s largest openings in Europe. Customers queued as early as 10 p.m. the day before to get a taste of the favorite langhap-sarap menu items that they miss.

Tropical Interior

Ahead of its opening, the company released official photographs of the restaurant’s contemporary interiors. It features a tropical theme reminiscent of the Philippines while appealing to the local market.

With a capacity of almost 200 diners, Jollibee Madrid is the brand’s largest restaurant in Europe. Unique design elements are incorporated, such as a full-size indoor palm tree in the large two-story dining space.

The restaurant’s comfy purple couches and visually pleasing fixtures offer a different dining experience that keeps European customers in mind. There are still touches of home found in the interior, like the Jeepney logo and woven fabric-inspired tiles.

Global Expansion

In a press release, JFC stated that its expansion in Spain comes as the company continues developing its global network of over 1,400 restaurants. This includes locations in New York, Rome, London, Los Angeles, Dubai, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

During their launch in London’s West End earlier in May, they broke opening day sales records by selling 4,000 pieces of Chickenjoy.

“Our entry into Spain is a major milestone in Jollibee’s history and our international expansion,” said Ernesto Tanmantiong, Jollibee Group’s Chief Executive Officer. “The heartwarming reception to our opening in Spain inspires us in our journey to bring our much-loved Chickenjoy to more countries in Europe and is in line with our vision to become among the top five restaurant companies in the world,” he added.

Outdoor dining, a designated take-out area, hand-washing facilities, and digital kiosks for safe transactions are also available to protect visitors and restaurant personnel. Jollibee Madrid officially opened its doors on September 23, 2021
