Adulthood has been rough and we’re 100% sure we’re not alone in this. All the bills, rent, and responsibilities make us dream of a time when we’d just cruise through elementary school, play tag with friends, and afterward, plop down our lunch bags filled with our favorite baon and drink to cool down.

That’s why nothing made us smile from cheek to cheek quicker than the return of two of the most popular sweet recess treats, Tofi Luk and Safari!

On Monday, Gandour Philippines made a surprise announcement on social media heralding the return of the beloved chocolate snacks to selected stores’ grocery shelves.

“Sweet, sulit, at swak sa bulsa? Try Tofiluk! Enjoy this irresistible two-stick biscuit coated with caramel goodness today,” its Facebook post read.

It also brought back Safari in another post: “Make your merienda time more epic with Safari chocolate bar! Experience the crispy goodness of cereal and wafer layered with caramel and milk chocolate.”

For many 90s kids, these classic snacks were time-tested favorites, be it as a baon to school or an after-play treat at home.

That’s why we weren’t surprised to see a whole lot of adults rejoicing the return of Tofi Luk and Safari. In the comments section of a Facebook page called Ala Eh Lipa’s post, several adults were overcome with nostalgia, mostly feeling relieved that the once-expensive snacks have returned.

The post has now garnered more than 11,000 reactions and has been shared more than 21,000 times as of writing.

“’Di ko kaya bumili niyan nung [elementary] tapos mga RK (Rich Kid) na classmates lang ang nakakabili,” one comment said.

“When I was younger It was hard for me to ask for this, [then the] time came when I can afford Safari, it disappeared. Now it’s back, this is a strong move Gandour Philippines!” another said.

Now we’re just patiently waiting for Cubee and Tini Wini to make a comeback too!
