Park and Dine at this Restaurant in Bacolod

Thirdwave Restaurant in Bacolod City is offering a unique dining experience for its customers during the pandemic. Customers have the option to park and dine in the safety and comfort of their own vehicles. The owners of the restaurant specifically came up with this concept to cater to families with younger children who can’t enter establishments due to COVID-19 protocols.

How it All Began

Laverne Traifalgar and her husband are former OFW’s who used to work on a cruise ship. When they weren’t able to board again due to travel restrictions, they decided to start their own business instead. But their venture wasn’t without challenges. Thirdwave Restaurant was set to open in March 2020 but was put on hold due to the lockdown. They officially opened their doors at Shop House along Narra Extension in June 2020 for dine-in and take-out services.

A Family Dining Experience

It wasn’t until July of this year that they started offering an in-car dining experience for their customers. “I don’t want to happen na ‘yung pandemic is mags-stop ng magandang experience natin as a family,” Laverne told Philippine Star. To implement social distancing, they only allow a maximum of four individuals per vehicle, and there won’t be additional fees for in-car services. “They were really happy kasi mayroon sa kanilang iba na mga bata nagdala. They were able to enjoy it,” she adds.

How to experience in-car dining?

Customers who want to experience the in-car dining should send Thirdwave Restaurant an inquiry and book a reservation. They will then send a menu so that you can make an advanced order. Before arriving, they should give the restaurant a heads-up so that the staff can prepare their food and bring out the wooden block that serves as their in-car dining table.

As business is booming for Thirdwave Restaurant, the management is looking at ways to further improve the in-car dining experience. They even plan to open another branch with an ocean view and another one with a mountain view so others can appreciate the beauty of Negros Occidental.
