Satisfy Your Sinigang Cravings at These Restos

Taste Atlas just named Sinigang “the world’s greatest vegetable soup,” and we can’t disagree. Whether you prefer pork, beef, fish, or shrimp in yours, there’s no denying this hearty sour soup is among the best Filipino food you can have. Satisfy your cravings at these restaurants that never fail to serve amazing Sinigang.

Manam

Tamarind, locally known as sampalok, is the most common souring agent used in Sinigang. Manam, however, serves their Sinigang na Beef Short Ribs with watermelon cubes instead. It might sound like an odd combination, but it’s a welcome, refreshing twist.

Neil’s Kitchen

You won’t be getting your usual bowl of Sinigang at Neil’s Kitchen, and we aren’t saying that degradingly. The Sinigang Paella with Grilled Pork Belly is one of their specialties that tastes familiar and provides a gastronomical experience. You’ll excuse the lack of soup to sip on once you get a taste of it.

Via Mare

Serving Filipino comfort food since 1975, Via Mare won’t let you down with their best-selling Sinigang. Both the Hipon and Karne variants are rich in flavor and up to standard. It comes with fresh vegetables and their signature vegetable broth that even kids love.

Kanin Club

True enough, Kanin Club cooks Sinigang unlike any other. Order the Sinigang na Liempo and they’ll serve you with sinigang-flavored fried rice, topped with tender cuts of pork belly, and paired with Photo: Facebook/Via afrecrispy vegetables. Another must-try is the Sinigang na Tadyang ng Baka.

Lola Idang’s

Lola Idang’s is a hidden gem that’s better known for their Pancit Malabon, but don’t sleep on their Sinigang na Baboy. Everything on their menu will remind you of home, and it’s affordable, too. Take home a Pasalabong ni Lola for your merienda while you’re at it.
