Some of the Best Baked Oats Recipes from Tiktok

Tiktok is on a roll with food trends and this time around they’re sharing their best baked oats recipes. If you’re not a fan of this pantry staple or you’re wanting to upgrade your boring breakfasts, these simple and easy-to-follow tutorials might just be the solution.

Chocolate Banana Baked Oats

A classic combination brought to you by @bearenger.

Mash half a banana and mix with ¼ cup of almond milk (or whatever milk you have on hand), 1 tbsp of maple syrup, and ½ tsp of vanilla. Then add your dry ingredients of half a cup of oats, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, a pinch of salt, and ½ tsp baking powder. Once they’re all combined, transfer to an oven-safe bowl and top it with bananas and chocolate chips before baking in the oven at 200°C for 20 minutes.

Peanut Butter and Jam Baked Oats

@wholesome.mils brings back her oldie but goodie recipe on Tiktok. She loves it because it keeps you satiated and tastes like dessert for breakfast.

Bring together your dry ingredients of 2 cups rolled oats, ½ tsp ginger powder, ¼ tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 1 tbsp peanut butter powder (regular peanut butter is fine). Whisk together 3 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp coconut oil, 1 egg, and 1 ½ cup unsweetened milk. To make the recipe vegan, substitute the eggs for ground flax seeds and use plant-based milk instead. Then combine the dry and wet ingredients and add a cup of fresh or frozen berries to the batter. Bake for 180°C for 35 minutes.

Whipped Coffee Baked Oats

To mark the first anniversary of quarantine, @justine_snacks recreates a coffee-flavored treat that could technically pass as a baked oats recipe.

Start off with ¼ cup of almond butter and ¼ cup of maple syrup. Add in a little bit of vanilla extract, one egg, and 2 tbsp of espresso or instant coffee. Set this aside while you put together your dry ingredients. That’s 80g of oat flour, ¼ tsp baking soda, and a pinch of salt. This recipe will yield 3 small ramekins, baked at 175°C for 18 to 22 minutes. Top it off with whipped coffee — just like you would when making Dalgona — and reminisce about the simpler times.

The possibilities are endless with this basic recipe. Depending on your chosen toppings, baked oats can also be turned into a healthy and nutritious snack or dessert.
