Heinz’s “biggest innovation in sauce since the packet itself” is here!
“Have you ever pondered how to procure the final drop from your ketchup packet? Fear not, my sauce-minded friends! I’m in the test kitchen coming up with scrumptious solutions. Stay tuned for the full squeeze,” Heinz posted on Instagram prior to the release of their new product.
The “Packet Roller” is a handy gadget you can use to get the most out of your condiment packets. It looks like a mini ketchup bottle, comes with a packet corner cutter, and could even be attached to a keychain so you can use it on the go.
“Our packets bring the magic to mealtime no matter where people are having their burger and fries but squeezing out every drop is no easy feat,” Heinz’s Brand Director Ashleigh Gibson said.
“We engineered the Heinz Packet Roller to give fans a whole new way to savor their favorite condiment and ensure the last drop never goes to waste again.”
The new pocket-sized gadget was introduced by Heinz months after reports on ketchup shortage came out. Several restaurants in the US have been running low on their supply of ketchup packets since most people prefer take-out and delivery over dine-in transactions due to the pandemic.
“It started with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention discouraging traditional, dine-in service at restaurants and suggesting more pandemic-friendly options like delivery and takeout instead,” CNN reported.
Aside from creating the “Packet Roller,” Heinz also confirmed that they will increase their production by 25% to address the ketchup shortage in the US.
