Starbucks introduces plant-based drinks and vegan-friendly food options

Get ready, pumpkin spice latte, because more vegan-friendly drinks are coming this fall season.

Starbucks introduces plant-based drinks and vegan-friendly food options

Looks like Starbucks Philippines is stepping on the pedal when it comes to beefing up their menu, and their latest additions to their plant-based menu could just be their healthiest ones yet.

Starbucks Philippines’ new “Plant Positivity” line puts the focus on the fiber-rich oat, which is added either as oat milk in their signature drinks are as an ingredient in their vegan-friendly snacks. The new plant-based introductions join the popular pumpkin spice line as the coffee brand’s fall season staples.

“At Starbucks, we believe that when you feel good on the inside, you feel good on the outside, and your positivity transcends through every action,” the coffee brand said in a press release per The Philippine Star Life.

Joining the fray of frothy oat milk-based drinks are the Oatmilk Honey Frappuccino (P195/P210/225), the Oatmilk Honey Latte (P195/P205/P220/P235), and the Oatmilk Honey Golden Monkey Tea Latte (P170/P180/P195/P210). The frappuccino and the latte are both created using a blend of oat milk and Starbucks’ signature espresso which are drizzled with honey-flavored syrup and toasted honey toppings. For an extra P30, you can elevate your drink by putting a dollop of plant-based whipped cream on top.

Meanwhile, the third menu addition is made more special with the light aroma and the premium, peachy taste of golden monkey tea, a kind of black tea that only blooms in spring. A serving is similarly dressed with honey-flavored syrup, a velvety layer of steamed oat milk, and toasted honey toppings to boot.

Craving for a quick bite that’s perfect for your diet? Go ahead and pair these plant-based drinks with Starbucks’ new guilt-free snacks, like their new vegan-friendly chocolate oatmeal cookie (85). Made with plant-based milk, this treat comes packed with dark chocolate chunks inside the thick and chewy goodness of an oatmeal dough cookie.

Or perhaps your health-conscious lifestyle calls for something on the sweet-and-savory side. In that case, Starbucks’ vegan-friendly pot pie (P195). The hot dish is made with plant-based meat mixed with celery, mushroom, carrots, and onions and garnished with melted strips of cheese on top.

The new menu items are welcome improvements to Starbucks Philippines’ plant-based line introduced last January, which includes light yet filling treats such as the bbq mochi bun, the classic lasagna made with plant-based Bolognese and dairy-free cheese, and the mince roll.

Their new oat milk-based drinks and vegan-friendly bites are now available in Starbucks branches nationwide and via GrabFood.
