Here’s How Summit Drinking Water Supported All Filipino Athletes In The 31st SEA Games

Summit cheered Filipino athletes on with the #ThirstForGold hashtag.

What do Hidilyn Diaz, EJ Obiena, and the PH Women’s National Football Team have in common? They brought pride to the country after the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam. Summit Natural Drinking Water was behind them every step of the way.

Even before EJ and Hidilyn earned global recognition, Summit already had their backs. The brand continues to give them and the country’s other athletes the same devotion.

Hidilyn as a Summit ambassador

Hidilyn has been vocal about the challenges she faced before bringing home gold. She went from being a wildcard in the 2008 Summer Olympics to a champion. She’s come a long way, but she’s showing no signs of slowing down.

“My journey toward the Paris Olympics starts here. Napaka-meaningful ng SEA Games para sa akin. Masaya ako na nandito ulit ako sa SEA Games para i-represent ang Pilipinas,” she said.

Hidilyn became a Summit ambassador in 2018. They’ve helped her with hydration and training. This is because the brand believes in her. They know she has the capacity to win big because of her motivation and persistence.

To commemorate her success story, the brand launched Summit Labels featuring Hidilyn Diaz. Her image will appear in 350ml, 500ml, and 1L formats. It will also appear on Sports Bottles in 500ml format. These are available in leading stores nationwide.

EJ’s journey to the ‘Summit’

Meanwhile, EJ joined Team Summit after his quick rise in the pole-vaulting scene. This was after he broke various records. In the 31st SEA Games, he broke a record he set in 2019. He reached a height of 5.46 and won a second straight gold medal in the regional meet.

“I’m relieved and happy to win the gold. I came here as a favorite and finally delivered. Mission accomplished,” he said.

How the Filipinas made history

The Philippine Women’s National Football Team made history earlier this year. They won big in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in India. That enabled them to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time ever.

The Filipinas failed to advance to the gold-medal round of the SEA Games. But they bounced back with a game their coach Alen Stajcic called their “best” in the biennial meet.

With the support of Summit Natural Drinking Water, the Filipinas are aiming high. They’re preparing for the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which Australia and New Zealand will host.

Summit promotes an active lifestyle

Every purchase of Summit Natural Drinking Water contributes to local athletes’ training. If you buy a bottle, you’re taking them one step closer to their goals. This year, Summit also partnered with Liv3ly. This partnership promotes an active lifestyle and supports Filipinos as they #ThirstForMore.

Liv3lyis a social fitness app that motivates users to move. It does this through engagements, experiences, gamification, and rewards. Users can take on running challenges, track their own records, and compete with others.
