Want to bake but don’t have an oven? Use these common appliances instead!

Baking has become THE quarantine pastime when people were required to stay indoors due to the pandemic. A lot of small businesses were actually born out of this quarantine hobby, as Filipinos looked to make extra income in these uncertain times. However, if you yourself haven’t tried baking because you don’t have an oven, there are alternatives to bake certain goodies like cake, bread, and cookies using more common appliances you’ll most likely have at home. Here are some recipes from YouTube to get you started!

Rice Cooker Bread

As Filipinos, we eat rice daily so you’ll have more chances of owning a rice cooker than an oven. If you’ve been wanting to bake,  bread is a good place to start since you’ll only need bread flour, sugar, yeast, water, and vegetable oil as your ingredients, and your trusty rice cooker.

Microwave Mug Cake

Baking a cake in an oven can take hours. However, if it’s simply a mug cake baked in a microwave, it’ll take you less than 10 minutes including preparation! This is also ideal for those who are lazy to do the dishes since you’ll only need your mug and measuring spoons to combine all ingredients.

Pan Cookies

To bake these cookies, you only need to prepare the cookie batter and then cook them on a greased pan over medium heat. It’s that easy! If you know how to fry food, then you can do this no bake chocolate cookies.
