Getting certificates of completion from legitimate learning portals are actually possible and now that we have more time on our hands, we might as well get into it.

Even as our lives come to a standstill while waiting for a cure to the COVID-19 pandemic, education and skill enhancement must never stop — not just for kids, though! Even adults can continue studying via free online courses that can easily be accessible through our phones or laptops. With just a few weeks (or at your own pace), you can easily earn certificates and an upgraded skillset at the comfort of your home. While there are a lot of online programs out there that you can try, we’ve listed down eight of the popular ones that match different types of jobs:

Each course comes with a certificate that will be sent via the user’s email upon completion. Included in their wide selection of courses are Spanish Language, Blogging, Graphic Design, PowerPoint, Mobile Development, Programming, and HTML.

2. Skillshare

Although not completely free, Skillshare offers a two-month free trial to over 10,000 courses available on their platform. They do not provide certificates but it’s one of the most popular learning portals at the moment. Skillshare offers a variety of materials for Mastering Excel, Drawing, Becoming a Freelancer, Meditation, Wine Tasting, Instagram Marketing, and DSLR Photography to name a few.

3. Google Digital Garage

A go-to choice for digital marketers, Google Digital Garage makes online classes accessible for everyone who wants to learn topics like Digital marketing, Business Security, Google Cloud Platform, Machine Learning, Business Communication, and even AI, to name a few. Users can attend each class at their own pace and you’ll only need to pass the final exam to gain a certificate via email.

4. Oxford Home Study

45 free home study courses are also available at Oxford Home Study Centre. Each course comes with a free certificate and they continuously update their portal with new topics — the latest being a free online course about COVID-19. They also offer Accounting, Risk Management, Public Relations, Project Management, Internet Marketing, Wedding Planning, Fashion Design, and Hotel Management courses.

5. Openlearning

Unlike other platforms, Openlearning offers a collection of courses from universities, colleges, and other learning platforms found online. While not being completely free, Openlearning still has a selection of free courses like Design, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, English, Japanese, Understanding Coffee, and AR/VR.

6. TESDA Online Program Website

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the Philippines is also offering free online programs, where Filipinos can earn a certificate after passing an assessment exam at TESDA center. Programs include Information Technology, Tousim, Housekeeping, Cookery, Electronica, Agriculture, Automotive, and Community Development Services. Interested participants will need to create an account via the e-TESDA portal before being given access to the programs.

7. Facebook Blueprint

With the rise of online selling during quarantine, you might also want to consider studying via Facebook Blueprint for digital marketing. Over 400 micro online classes are available on the platform and students can receive a certificate upon passing their “final exam”. This is recommendable for those who run businesses and ads via Facebook or if you really just want to know the ins and outs of Facebook marketing — a skills that is super handy these days!

8. Harvard Online Courses

For those who need specific reference materials about certain topics, Harvard’s Online Courses offer 92 online courses which can run for 4-12 weeks long. Harvard also indicates which courses are currently trending in their platform to give users an idea about what is currently in demand. Courses include Preventing the Next Pandemic, Mobile App Development, Religious Literacy, Politics, Rhetoric, and Bioethics.
