If you’d gladly spend your time in lockdown watching seventeen seasons of medical drama, then read on.
If you clicked on this article, chances are, you’re already a fan of the Emmy-nominated medical drama series, Grey’s Anatomy. In that case, we know you’d watch the whole series in a heartbeat for free.
But, just in case you want a little incentive for your time and trouble, medication subscription company NiceRx is willing to pay people to watch all 380 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy in exchange for $1,000.
They would also be asking participants to provide the answer to the following question: who between Ellen Pompeo’s Dr. Meredith Gray and Chandra Wilson’s Dr. Miranda Bailey have saved the most lives since the series premiered in 2005.
“We ask that the chosen fan keeps count over the course of 17 seasons to reveal which of these iconic doctors is the biggest life saver,” reads the company’s challenge on its website. “Not only will you get to relive the most iconic moments of the shows 16-year history, but you will also get $1,000 and an assortment of goodies for the pleasure.”
NiceRx will start off interested participants with a Grey’s Anatomy full boxed set and a year’s worth of Netflix subscription.
Aside from bagging a thousand bucks, successful binge-watchers will also get to take home a personalized Cameo message from James Pickens Jr.’s Dr. Richard Webber congratulating you for the unique achievement.
To provide some perspective, if an average episode of Grey’s Anatomy is about 43 minutes minus commercials, then watching seasons one through seventeen would take about 16,340 minutes or 11 days and 8 hours straight. Make it a full twelve days if you factor in bathroom breaks, at the very least.
Created by Shonda Rhimes, Grey’s Anatomy is American network ABC’s longest-running scripted primetime show and the longest-running American medical-drama series of all time. It has won a Golden Globe for Best Drama Series and earned several Primetime Emmy nods, with Katherine Heigl bringing home an Outstanding Supporting Actress trophy in 2007 for her portrayal of surgical intern Izzie Stevens.
The show was renewed for an 18th season last May.
